Thinking in Flex
Abstract
Rich Internet Applications are not just hype anymore... They are reality! Over the past few years Adobe Flex has become the leading RIA technology in the Java ecosystem. 2007 proved to be another exciting year for Flex. In 2007 Adobe announced Flex would be open sourced. Also in 2007 there have been two public betas of Flex 3 and the new Adobe Integrated Runtime (AIR). Adobe AIR provides a platform to deploy RIAs to the desktop. Also in 2007 many enterprise application have seen great success when integrating transactional databases, Java, and Flex through LiveCycle Data Services.
In this session James Ward will introduce the Flex platform. Bruce Eckel, author of Thinking in Java, will present his views on Flex and Java. Romain Guy, co-author of Filthy Rich Clients, will talk about the importance of User Experience. Christoph Rooms will introduce Adobe AIR.
