JavaForge.com the first Java based and Subversion backed Open Source Development platform

Abstract

The JavaForge was launched in 2005 as the first Java based and Subversion backed, free collaboration platform for the Open Source World. It is specifically designed for geographically distributed development projects and extends Subversion with a Web-based administration interface to manage accounts, permissions and projects. All JavaForge component including Wiki, tracker, forum, document management, SCM integration was designed to work together to create an integrated, collaborative development environment that is scalable extendable and secure. Tagging is used to link component artefacts together, and connect developers together into a social networking development community.

The JavaForge comes with integrated Eclipse Mylyn and a NetBeans plug-in that extends the capabilities resulting increased developers' productivity. Through the integrated components, developers are able to build community, collaborate, share knowledge, and work effectively together from different locations using their IDE's or the Web.

Also a short live demonstration will be given about how JavaForge is being used by open source developers using SVN and their IDE.
