Safe Journey !
Almost 2.000 JavaPolians will be traveling this weekend (and the following days) to Belgium. The JavaPolis team wishes you a safe journey and would already like to welcome you in our small (but complex) country.
Once in Belgium you'll need to drink our beers (watch out with Duvel), eat our chocolates and taste our fries with mayonnaise
If you want to avoid long queues then make sure you pickup your badge on Sunday evening. If you're only attending the Conference then collecting your entrance badge (and welcome bag) on Tuesday afternoon could be a smart move.
Safe trip,
The JavaPolis Team
Hi,
I just registered to post my feedback about this edition of JavaPolis. I don't know if you are expecting any but as I've been soooooooo disappointed this year I do it anyway because I have a lot of things to say.
First of all, the most important thing to me are the talks that have been cancelled at a late time. I have in mind a talk about EJB scheduled on monday, but it has been cancelled and I don't remember beeing alerted. I checked the program like a month ago and I was interested in some talks. The program I received monday morning was slightly [i would rather say quite] different. If I had seen the final program when I did register, I don't think I would've. This was my first point.
Now, my second point, not very important. I mention it because I saw it many time on the white board upstairs. The food was absolutely awfull. Actually, I haven't tasted it myself. I don't eat meat and I've met a lot of other people who don't either. Tuesday, pasta with some soup because it didn't look like a sauce!! Today, some kind of hot dog? What about people who don't eat meat?
So as the food didn't look tasty at Javapolis, I've been at the Quick (the fast food) on monday and tuesday. Today I didn't dare. I can't eat 5 time on a fast food in a week. It's the best way to become ill
My third point now: the crowd. Today it was completly overcrowded!! It was impossible to go through the boots. They were always full. And also people queuing for the sandwish and others eating all around and dropping ketchup and mustard everywhere. The floor was really bad looking at the break
)
Now, my last point (I have to stop right?). The talks themselves are a lot of "deja-vu"... You're expecting something new and you just get a repeat... of last year.
Ok, Javapolis this year was disappointing on almost everything. I just want to add that the people were great but I won't go the last two days. It's more like a wasting time. I will maybe give it a try next year . By the way, I haven't paid the pass personnally. It has been paied by the compagny where I work. Even if it's like "free", I AM DISAPPOINTED (and I'm not the only one if we look at the white boards upstairs) and wanted to let you (organizers) know! And if you want to know how many javapolis edition i've attended it's the fourth and it's the worst one
)
Sani.
