Abstract
Developing and/or integrating Webservices is becoming an everyday task for many java developers and there has been both a proliferation and consolidation regarding webservice toolkits, technologies and best-practices.
This talk will try to give a view of current options in regard to
- top-down / bottom-up development of webservices with java
- different ws-toolkits for java-developers (axis, xfire, jax-ws, jax-rpc, etc..)
- status of relevant standards / APIs
SoapUI is a free tool that can ease all above tasks and will be used frequently during the talk to illustrate different use-cases. Also, the possibility to do test-driven WebService development with SoapUI will be explored in more detail as it gives a novel and powerful approach to developing WebServices in a distributed environment / development-team
