OpenOffice.org Java SDK
Abstract
OpenOffice.org (OOo) is a complete open source office suite which is much compatible with Microsoft Office. OOo might be of interest to Java developers since it has a Java API and Source Development Kit (SDK) that allows almost complete control over OOo, including creation and modification of Microsoft Office documents and generation of PDFs.
During this lab we will investigate the basics of using the OOo SDK to create and modify Microsoft Office documents and to generate PDFs. The lab instructor will have OOo running in server mode and attendees will connect to this running instance. Using some convenience methods a nice certificate of attendance will be created.
