Mapping with AJAX and SVG

Abstract

We present MAJAS, a framework for developing thin-client Geographic Information applications. The framework is built on AJAX for client-server communication, and SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) for the rendering of geographic data. The vectorial nature of SVG enables the development of rich GIS functionalities such as vectorial editing, and red-lining.
