Abstract
Why so slow?
Performance tuning is about instrumentation, tooling and experience. In this University session, we will talk about instrumentation and tooling however you only get experience by doing. So bring your laptop because we are going to bring a poorly performing application for you to fix. We will use this application to demonstrate how examining code alone often leads development teams down the wrong path. You will also experience how to quickly get the right measurements that will leave you with no doubt as what the true cause of the performance problem.
