Abstract
The emergence of dynamic language based frameworks such as Rails & Django has inspired many leading figures to re-evaluate how modern web applications are built today.
However, a significant number of organisations simply have too much invested in Java to abandon it as a platform and its the platform that is Java's real strength along with the mountain of open source
libraries, frameworks and IDE's.
This session, led by Graeme Rocher the project lead of Grails, is a must for those who interested in the new direction web frameworks are taking. And in particular how a dynamic scripting language like Groovy can be harnessed on the Java platform to make developers more productive.
