This session will cover the improvements such as the new POJO-based persistence APIs for O/R mappings (EJB 3.0), extensive use of annotations to reduce the need for XML deployment descriptors, dependency injection to eliminate JNDI lookups, component-based Web application development with JavaServer Faces, simplified Web services with the new JAX-WS and JAXB APIs. The session will also cover how Java EE 5 can be used to develop Web applications with next-generation AJAX-based Web GUIs, and demonstrate the Java BluePrints Solutions Catalog for Java EE 5.
