Bio

Frank Piessens is a professor at the Department of Computer Science of the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in Belgium. His research interests are in security aspects of software, including security in operating systems and middleware, security architectures, application security, Java and .NET security, and software interfaces to security technologies.
He has been programme committee member for various security-related international scientific conferences, is an active participant in both fundamental research projects and industrial application-driven projects, and has acted as consultant on security aspects of distributed software.
Frank has lectured about software security to a variety of audiences.
He teaches a software security course at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, and has given tutorials at various academic and industrial conferences.
